I'm curious – how many people actually do their own rehab work vs. how many hire handymen or contractors. Personally, I don't want to do any of it unless it's going to be fun (video, anyone?) :), which generally means someone else is doing the work.
I like it doing it from time to time, but I know what my limits are. If there's money involved, like I'm working on a property that I want to flip, I'll probably just hire someone so I don't screw it up and have to pay more to fix it.
Aloha, I have renovated an entire house with one other person, it was stressing….. each wall towre down brang a week worth of unplanned work, and only having HGTV as my inspiration, I at times wish I would have hired out the projects, but when all was said and done and I got to see the final results from my blood, sweat and tears (yes, there were all three) I was so proud of myslef and gained a whole respect for my abilities that I may not have discovered if I had hired contractors. But next time, i think I will deligate some of the tasks to a handyman :)
